Betty shifted the flower arrangement on the table. Which way does it need to go now, she asked. I suggested she move the arrangement to her right just a little. She obliged, sliding it a little to her right. Well? she asked, waiting for a response
I heard a voice coming from the back of the Church. I recognized it as our Pastors. Its too far to your right, move it to your left.
My friends and I turned to see the Pastor standing in the center of the isle. As we turned, he smiled and responded to the quizzical look on our faces. It all depends on your angle as to where you think she should move the flowers. Very good point, I replied. We were sitting on the right side of the sanctuary, but our Pastor was standing directly in front of the arrangement, thus, our angle caused a distorted view, while his position gave a more accurate view.
How far from the truth are you? If you are like the basket of flowers even a fraction off center one way or another, your angle could cause you to miss God. Wavering to the left or the right could draw you away from the Savior. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:16 KJV
Do you know just enough of the truth to cause distortion of your vision? Do you know enough to be deceived? Deception? Yes, because of lack of knowledge, one may be deceived into thinking they know the truth, when in all factuality, they know only a partial truth. Remember, Satan is the father of lies. He came to kill, steal and destroy. If he deceives you and stills the truth, he could destroy you.
There is no other way than the sacrificial blood of Christ. By following the Way of the Cross, you place yourself directly in line with the Word, and standing before the Savior. So you see, Gods word isnt just the way to the truth, his word is the truth. Accept his word; accept the truth.
Hear the truth
.Christ offered up himself as a living sacrifice. He walked the road to the hill of Golgotha. He suffered as no other person before or after him has suffered. He died and rose again victorious over sin and death. Jesus then sent the Holy Spirit to indwell those who received him as Savior and Lord. God sent his word, in the flesh that all may know the truth and that through him all would be saved. The truth will set you free. Receive it!
Where do you stand? Have you received the gift of salvation? If not, would you know the truth and be saved? Why not admit that youre a sinner lost and undone without the Lord, confess your sin of unbelief, repent of your sins, believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Finally, follow Christ in baptism. Then rejoice, Youre a child of the Most High God!
